Climate and Weather in Goa
Located on the coast of southern India that opens to the Arabian Sea, just south of Bombay, the city of Goa has a tropical climate that is influenced by the summer monsoon season and is identical to that found in the Philippines. This reasons why it is generally very rare to find temperature below 25° C throughout the year. The climate of Goa is characterized by two distinct seasons: the dry season from the months of October to April and the wet season, which corresponds to that of the monsoon. To fully enjoy your stay in India, arrange for travel during any part of the dry season so that you can discover other cities like Jaipur in Rajasthan or New Delhi.
The Dry Season in Goa
During the period from December to April, the weather in Goa is almost perfect: the scarcity of rain adds an overall pleasant warmth. Temperatures reach as high as 35° C, but thanks to the action of the sea breeze, it is possible to feel generally comfortable. This is a good time to enjoy the beautiful sunny days and explore the beautiful scenery surrounding the resort or explore the surrounding towns. As the weather is already comfortable at the crack of dawn, people sensitive to high temperatures may favor this time of day for activities and use the afternoon as a purpose to relax.
Wet Season in Goa
Unlike Pondicherry and Kerala which face the rain all year round, the city of Goa only faces a few months of heavy rain which occurs during the period between May and October. Weather in Goa is characterized by the abundance of rain. The intense rain can even develop into torrential rains causing the water to overflow onto the roads.
In general, the rains bring freshness into Goa and accentuate the clammy feeling that dominates the atmosphere. This explains the feeling of persistent high heat, despite the relative decline in temperatures.
